Creating a Loved Bible for a Teen Girl

Do you want to create a Loved Bible for a teen girl in your life? This one of my favorite seasons to create Bibles for. To read more about Legacy Loved Bibles go here (we also give ideas on what Bibles to use).

I’m in it myself. I’m doing this right now for my three daughters to give to them as graduation gifts.

I put this page together as a very practical starting point. I’ve linked everything I mention so you don’t have to hunt it all down or wonder what I’m talking about.

If you’ve never created a Loved Bible, here’s a supply list that might help.

QUICK PRINT LIST: All Printables to add into Teen Girl Loved Bible:

Here is a quick print list: Keep scrolling for how to use these.

Here’s quick win – print, cut and add to the front of her Bible using washi tape (this tape come in many different colors, designs – simply search a site like amazon “washi tape”)

Where I usually start: Foundations: Essentials

I always start with Foundations: Essentials.

If you open to page 8, there’s a section called What is a disciple of Jesus? I like to simply pray through that page. Slowly. No rush. You could highlight any of the scriptures mentioned there directly in her Bible as you pray.

Attributes of God

If you want to build your own daily habit of opening this Loved Bible, try adding one attribute of God a day for the next 30 days.

Pages 13–14 in Foundations: Essentials will guide you through this. Here are some colorful cut and print cards you can tape in.

3 Core Truths

From Foundations: Essentials, I also love pulling the Key Truths from these sections:

  • What is the Bible
  • Who is Jesus
  • What is the Gospel

There are scriptures already listed and simple quotes or notes that help explain things in a way that isn’t overwhelming. You can use those or add your own notes in the margins.

Here are colorful cards that correspond with each section to print, cut, and tape into her Bible.

I also often highlight the table of contents on page 17 and the story of Scripture on page 18. It helps her see where she is and how everything fits together.

Where I go next

After that, the next workbook I usually work through is Foundations: Gospel Living starting on page 16.

It walks through:

  • how the gospel saves us into a new identity and new relationships
  • how we are being changed to be more like Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit
  • how the gospel sustains us through the ups and downs of the Christian life and calls us on mission

There are scriptures and quotes you can highlight, tuck in, or send with future notes and care packages.

Other Ideas:

Scripture rich books on specific topics: Are there any books that have shaped your own faith or books that address a topic that concerns your teen (maybe they are an athlete, they struggle with anxiety, you want to give them biblical truths in the area of friendship or stewardship of time). Read these books and pull quotes and notes and add them to the Loved Bible.

Instagram: Use our instagram for inspiration! We share gospel-centered quotes in the areas of biblical literacy, growing in gospel fluency, living life on mission, enjoying Jesus, and discipleship. We also pick scripture rich books and feature quotes from them in actual Loved Bibles.

Devotionals: Use a daily devotional to give you prompts of things to pray or add to your loved Bible. Here are some of our favorite devotionals!
