Are you celebrating a baby? You can create a Loved Bible documenting prayers over this precious little life!
Creating a Loved Bible
How to get started:
- Purchase a Bible that will be given to the parents.
- Cut out the Scripture/Prayer cards from our Loved Bible Baby Printable.
What Type of Bible?
Since this is a Bible for an important life event, you may want to purchase a non-compact Bible. There are a variety of options, features, and price points. Here are a few:
- The CSB Spurgeon Study Bible: contains study notes and quotes from Charles Spurgeon.
- ESV Women’s Study Bible: contains study notes and reflections from many great teachers and authors.
- ESV Legacy Bible: no study notes but generous margins for notes and at a 6×9 size it is easy to bring along to church or Bible study.
- ESV Journaling Bible or NIV Journaling Bible: Both of these Bibles feature wide margins and come in various cover choices.
- CSB She Reads Truth Bible: contains devotionals, wide margins, and comes in a variety of cover styles.
- Scriptura Bibles has a number of heirloom quality Bibles.
- You may want to look for a Bible with large margins if you hope to write prayers/notes in the margin.
Ideas for the shower:
- During the shower have a time of activity and prayer. Have everyone write out a prayer and personal note on a card.
- Have the our baby printable cards available for friends and family to pick one if needed for suggestions. Note: these sample prompts in our printable shouldn’t be cut and taped to the Bible, use them as inspiration.
- Provide notes, paper, cards, pens, markers, etc.
- If you do not know the baby’s name (for example at a baby shower – just use the sentiment or pray for ‘little one’ etc).
- Have everyone highlight a Scripture and add their card to that page.
- Have some quiet time to pray.
